Romans 5:8

God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.

Nicole Kelly serves as the Children's Ministry Director at Impact Community Church. We are excited to share her Devotion from Romans today.

What does it mean that Christ died for us? It means that He loves us so much that He died in our place. We deserve death but Christ took that judgement for our sin on Himself, on the cross. He suffered and died in our place. He did that for us before we'd ever had done anything to deserve His love and you will never fully understand that love until you receive Him, JESUS, into your heart. As believers we still struggle with realizing that He loves us eternally, always, forever because of circumstances that we put ourselves in, like maybe you have sinned or turned away from Him. Guess what? He has promised He will not forsake us. He LOVES us.

At times when you feel unworthy and ashamed don't let these feelings determine your reality. You must live in the truth He has given to us, assured of your salvation and all of the promises He has made. Remember that He loves you completely when you are in your darkest times. His love has saved you and He will continue to work in your life. You just have to have faith and give yourself to HIM fully.

Galatians 2:20

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
