LOCAL MINISTRIES

We are in partnership with Feeding America to stuff the backpack of deserving children who may not have the means to have food when they are not at school.  We are always in need of donations of easy to prepare meal items such as canned pasta, macaroni & cheese, soups, snack items, individual packs of grits & oatmeal, fruit cups, applesauce, pudding cups, and drinks to be placed in the backpacks of these deserving children.

We host a Good News Club at Reidville Elementary School every Tuesday from 2:25 pm until 3:30 pm.   This is a ministry of Child Evangelism Fellowship.  With parents permission, a group of children meet once a week after school.  This ministry is lead by trained leaders who present the Gospel to the children and provide an opportunity for children to trust the Lord Jesus as their Savior.  This is a wonderful opportunity to teach the gospel to those children who may not go to church with a time of singing, bible study, snack and games.

The Carpenter's Table has asked our church to serve every First Saturday from 8:45 am until 12:00 pm.  The Carpenters table was formed in 2001 by a concerned group of people from Tyger River Presbyterian Church, Joy Lutheran Church and Nazareth Presbyterian Church.  A food pantry was established to provide assistance to people suffering from food scarcity on the west side of Spartanburg County. In 2004, there were just 32 families served by the food pantry. Currently, this Outreach Center serves hundreds of households each month.  Their primary goal is to lessen hunger in our Upstate community by distributing food to those in need while providing information about nutritional/dietary issues and preserving the dignity of those served.
