The Christian life is one of momentum and progress.  There really isn't any way to sit still spiritually, so when we aren't moving forward, that probably means we're moving backwards.  God’s Word calls us to grow as believers.  We should be growing in our faith, our relationships with other believers, spiritual disciplines like Bible reading and our prayer life, and our confidence in telling God’s story through word and deed. One of the key purposes of Impact is to help believers grow in these areas.  As a church, and as individuals we don't have the luxury of becoming complacent.  Even when we were far from Him, Jesus pursued us with His love.  Our privilege is to return that expression of love and follow hard after Him!
